Local Elections Matter With California State Senator Holly Mitchell

Our theme for this quarter was the importance of local elections.

Local races in LA County can be won or lost by just a few hundred votes. They can also make a huge difference in our everyday lives. Voting and getting your friends to vote in local elections could make a very impactful difference in our city.

Towards this end:

  • We had a Q&A with CA State Senator Holly Mitchell where we asked questions about how she integrates science - and scientists - into her legislative process.

  • One of our officers wrote a blog post outlining some tangible effects of local offices.

  • Another broke down the local ballot measures and propositions.
