Policy Memo: The Growing Presence of Faith-Based Hospitals in California Restricts Access to Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare

We became interested in faith-based hospitals during the UC Regents’ deliberation over our affiliation with Catholic hospitals in 2019. We engaged in public comment, created infographics, held an information session, wrote an op-ed, and created a one-pager for the state legislature on this issue while conducting the research presented in our article.
