Mark Gold, UCLA Associate Vice Chancellor for Environment and Sustainability

In collaboration with GSA, Government Relations and the Career Center, we held a week of science advocacy activities!

Mon 4/30: Do You Know Your Government?

This session is open to everyone! Join GSA for a workshop to brush up on your knowledge of how the government functions, including how a bill becomes a law. Knowing this is the first step to effective advocacy!

Wed 5/2: Science Advocacy Workshop

This session is by (short) application only! Join Dr. Mark Gold and UCLA’s Government Relations for an advocacy training session to give you all the tips and tricks you need for the district office visits.

Fri 5/4: District Office Visits

End your advocacy week by putting your new knowledge and skills to the test with district office visits! We visited the offices of our California state representatives, including Assemblymembers Richard Bloom and Sydney Kamlager. Both were engaging and interested in collaborating in the future.
